What is your role and what does it involve?

I’m a Graduate Credit Risk Analyst within the Risk team. My role is to reduce fraud risk by performing debt verification, drawing up security documentation and reviewing the initial eligibility of incoming applications.

I regularly shadow other members of the Risk team, learning and understanding not only the credit underwriting process but also how they manage their portfolio of clients and workflow. As I have built up my knowledge and confidence, I have recently been allocated a small portfolio of clients to monitor as well getting involved in underwriting credit applications.

What are some of the challenges your team are facing?

Invoice finance is a competitive market and we need to remain agile in order to continue growing and to meet our ambitions. A big challenge for Risk is to continue to improve / build on the current Risk policies to make this possible. With the launch of MarketInvoice Pro earlier this year, this is even more important as we have now entered an even larger and competitive market.

What have you enjoyed about working at MarketInvoice so far?

To start off, everyone here is extremely smart, talented and motivated! It really drives you to try and fulfill your potential. The culture is great too as there are so many opportunities to learn and everyone is extremely happy to help.

Risk specific, I enjoy how it’s always busy – from liaising with the Sales team to dealing with new clients and solving problems, no day is the same!

What kind of person is going to be successful in a role like yours at MarketInvoice?

Someone who is analytical with good financial acumen and eagerness to learn. You would not shy away from challenges and responsibility. Efficient time management is vital as you must balance your workflow in order to meet deadlines.

What are you hoping to achieve in the future at MarketInvoice?

I am hoping to develop my underwriting ability and to continue learning more about the Risk policies / industry. My aim is to eventually step up into a full Risk Analyst role.
