Connecting your Xero account with MarketFinance means you can apply in minutes. We can automatically access the information we need to review your application, so you'll be done in just a few clicks. Once your account is set up, you can use the integration to make it really easy to manage your account.


You can use MarketFinance invoice finance if…

  • You have a limited company or LLP based in the UK or Ireland
  • You have a minimum turnover of £100,000 p.a. or annualised income from current year’s trading

You can use MarketFinance business loans if…

  • You have a Limited, LLP or PLC company based in the UK
  • You have a minimum turnover of £70,000 p.a.
  • You have been trading for 6 months or more

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does MarketFinance use the data in my Xero account for?

  • We use the data to get an up-to-date view of your company’s financial situation. This lets us assess your initial application and make ongoing funding decisions, such as an increase in your credit limit. We also access information about your invoices so that you don’t need to manually enter these details.
  • Can I apply without Xero and then link my account after?

  • You can do this but it will be more work for you. You’ll need to manually upload documents such as bank statements and accounts as part of the application process. If you link your Xero account, we’ll be able to automatically access this information, saving you time.
  • What data do you access from my Xero account?

  • The information we look at includes: Accounts, Bank Transactions, Bank Transfers, Contacts, Credit Notes, Invoices, Organisation, Overpayments, Prepayments, Payments, Purchase Orders, Repeating Invoices and Reports. \n \n Please be assured that we don’t have access to your payroll, files or fixed asset information, and we work with Xero to ensure that your data is protected at all times.
  • Will I need to re-enter my Xero password every time I use MarketFinance?

  • The link to your Xero account works for 90 days. During this time, we will periodically refresh the data in your MarketFinance account or you can click to sync so that you have the most up-to-date information. After 90 days, you’ll need to link us to your account again.
  • Why should I let MarketFinance access my data?

  • To save you time. The data we access is required to use MarketFinance so if you don’t link your Xero account, you’ll need to upload this information manually instead.
  • What if I want to remove the MarketFinance add-on from my Xero account?

  • You can do this at any time from your Xero account.
  • I already use MarketFinance. Do I need to reapply to MarketFinance using my Xero login?

  • No. If you are an existing customer, you can link your current MarketFinance account to Xero here.

As a Xero user, you have access to our enhanced integration. If you choose to connect, we’ll be able to send payment-related information to your Xero account.

This means that MarketFinance transactions will now automatically be matched in Xero. Let’s say, for example, your debtor pays an invoice that we’ve funded. Xero will automatically match the payment to the invoice so you can cut down on extra admin. All you have to do is click “OK” to accept the match and reconcile.

  1. Log in to your MarketFinance account and click “Accounting Software” in the top right navigation bar.
  2. Click “Connect to Xero”. This will take you to your Xero login page where you can log in as normal.
  3. Once logged in, simply click “connect”. This will take you to the “Enhanced integration options page” within your MarketFinance account.


  1. Use the “Preferred bank account” dropdown to select the bank account within Xero where you’d like to receive payment information from MarketFinance.
  2. Use the “Preferred expense account dropdown” to select the expense account where you’d like to record our fees.
    – If you don’t have an expense account, simply select the option to create a new one.
    – Once done, click “refresh accounts”. The expense account you’ve just created will now appear in the dropdown.
  3. Use the “Preferred MarketFinance account” dropdown to select the account that represents your MarketFinance facility in Xero.
    – If you’ve already been manually recording MarketFinance transactions, simply select the existing account.
    – If you don’t have an existing account, you don’t need to select anything in this drop down. We’ll create a MarketFinance account for you in Xero. Click “Integration enabled” to turn on automatic payment matching.
  4. Click “Save settings” and you’re done!

Integration questions

  • What type of transactions will be matched?

  • Xero will automatically match these types of transactions, providing they’re in GBP:
    • When we fund an invoice
    • When your debtor pays an invoice we’ve funded
    • When we collect our fees
  • How can I send payment-related information manually?

  • We’ll automatically send payment-related information to your Xero account every 6 hours. Simply click “Manual sync” if you’d like to do this manually at any time.
  • How can I temporarily disable payment matching?

  • You can choose to temporarily disable payment matching at any time by clicking “Integration disabled”. You’ll still be connected to our enhanced integration unless you choose to disconnect below.
  • How can I disconnect from enhanced integration?

  • Click “Disconnect” to completely disconnect from our enhanced integration and delete the MarketFinance app from your Xero organisation. Once you’ve disconnected, we won’t be able to send payment-related information to your Xero account. You can choose to connect again at any time.
  • How do I update my integration settings?

  • You can return to the “Enhanced integration options” page at any time to update your settings or complete any of the other actions listed below. Here’s how:
    1. Log in to your MarketFinance account.
    2. Click “Accounting software” in the top right navigation bar.
    3. Click “Go to settings”.
